Story: Hazelnut was found as a stray
Hazelnut, or “Hazel” as her foster family calls her, is a sweet and lovable 9 month girl looking for her forever home. She was rescued at 10 weeks after being abandoned, and her foster family nursed her back to health with lots of time, love, and care. Now, she’s fit, happy, and ready to bring joy to a new family!
In her book, there’s no such thing as too much attention. While she gets along with everyone (even cats and little ones), she has a special fondness for female companionship. She’s never shown any signs of aggression, but it does take her longer to warm up to men. She’s a loyal companion who will follow you everywhere and sit quietly at your feet.
She loves hanging out indoors and playing outside. She also loves working those puppy teeth, so bones and chew toys are a must. Her foster mom mostly works from home, so she spends most of her day playing in the backyard or napping in the office. She is kennel trained and does great in her kennel overnight and while no one is home. She has a bit of separation anxiety and can get into trouble if she’s left out when her family is gone.
She currently knows “sit” “off” and “leave it” and she’s working on “lay down” and “stay.” She is fine tuning her potty training, but does great when she’s in her kennel and when she’s let out frequently.
This girl has survived against all odds and she deserves the peace and love of a forever home. She will return the affection and loyalty ten-fold.
