Watermelon was part of a large hoarding case. Over 40 dogs were on a property, mostly left to fend for themselves. Definitely not getting proper care. Puppy Haven took 10 of these dogs, and unknown to us at the time…Watermelon was pregnant!

She delivered her babies and took care of them like a champ. But at her wellness exam, the dreaded positive test result appeared. Heartworms. Just like so many of the others from her case, she has the dreaded literal worms in her heart.

If the worms in her heart are allowed to grow and multiply, it will literally cost Watermelon her life. We can’t let that happen. She is such a survivor already. Help us, help her keep on surviving.
