Slushy’s story started in a place no dog should ever home—one of more than 40 neglected pups. When we got him, his ears were torn up and he was a bit unsure.

We treated his ears and they are healing nicely, he’s gaining weight as he should. Really he may look okay now, but Slushy is quietly battling heartworms. It’s a serious condition that, without treatment, can be fatal.

He doesn’t even know he’s sick. He just knows he finally feels safe, finally has food and clean water, and finally has a place to rest.
