Story: Savanna was surrendered to us by her owner

After being the best mama to her beautiful litter of puppies, Savanna is finally ready for a family of her very own! This sweet 1-year-old Australian Shepherd is equal parts playful, goofy, and affectionate. She absolutely adores her people and loves spending time with the other dogs in her foster home. Whether she’s romping around the yard, carrying one of her beloved stuffed toys from room to room, or curled up beside you on the couch, Savanna is simply happy to be with her family. And if she isn’t carrying a toy around? You’ll probably find her with her tongue hanging out the side of her mouth, making everyone around her laugh!

Savanna is fully potty trained, crate trained, knows “sit,” and has wonderful house manners. She has a great balance of energy and relaxation. She’s always up for a walk or a game of fetch, but once she’s gotten her playtime in, she’s more than happy to settle in for snuggles. She’s definitely more mellow than your typical Aussie, but still needs a fair bit of exercise and plenty of opportunities to use that smart brain of hers! Before Savanna was surrendered to the rescue, she suffered an injury that didn’t heal quite right, leaving her with a slight limp, but it doesn’t slow her down one bit! She still loves running, wrestling with her dog friends, going for walks, and living life to the fullest.

Despite spending the first nine months of her life living outside, you’d never know it by the way she loves. Savanna has the sweetest, most trusting heart. She has so much love to give and asks for so little in return. She just wants a family that will give her cuddles, pets, playtime, and snacks!

Whoever is lucky enough to adopt Savanna isn’t just getting an amazing dog. They’re getting a loyal best friend who will always greet them with a toy in her mouth, a silly smile on her face, and endless love to give!
