Story: Octavia was born in rescue, adopted out, but recently returned due to no fault of her own
Octavia is truly just a sweetie pie! Once she knows you’re a safe person, she is eager to please, get as many pets as you’ll give, and cuddle! She has had a hard transition after her former owner passed away, so she’s still working on being more confident around other people, particularly men. Right now, she is on a medication to help with her anxiety, and she has been doing great! Her foster hopes that she will be able to wean off this medication soon as she gets more confident in the home.
Octavia is great with dogs of all sizes as well as the cats in her foster home. She is potty trained and crate trained, and definitely sees her crate as a safe space. Typically, she is crated during the workday (~8 hours) and at night, but wouldn’t mind sleeping in the bed with you! Inside, Octavia enjoys lounging on the couch, chewing on toy bones, and following you around. Outside, Octavia enjoys chasing squirrels, playing with her foster dog siblings, and following you around! She is also great on a leash, and responds well to corrections because she is so eager to please you!
Octavia will need someone who understands that she needs time to establish a sense of security and confidence with people, but that she’s so, so worth it! She’s the sweetest girl who loves her people once she’s comfortable!
