Newmie is part of a pyrenees family we rescued from a life wandering alone, with no real home base, limited access to food & water, and 0 love & affection.
We initially thought Newmie was a “teenager,” an older puppy due to his small size. Once we got him, we realized he was actually closer to an adult than a puppy, with an age estimate closer to a year old. He was still very thin, weighing in at a whopping 32 lbs. We were heartbroken to realize that due to lack of care, his growth & development was stunted.

Newmie’s story doesn’t end there, as we soon also discovered that he is heartworm positive. He’s goofy, affectionate, and just learning about the good life— you’d never guess he’s fighting a battle inside. Treating heartworm is expensive and slow, but it’s the only way to give Newmie a real shot at life.
He’s already been through so much. He’s been busy learning what toys are and how comfy a couch can be. And now, he just needs a chance to heal. But without treatment, those heartworms could cost him his life. This sweet, goofy guy has made it so far. He deserves the chance to keep going.
$0/$460 raised for Newmie’s heartworm treatment.
