Miranda’s Medical Info

Miranda is a survivor. She was originally from a property that had over 30 dogs on it, and they somehow got parvo. She was hospitalized for a week fighting for her life after we finally got to her. She lived through life outside on someone’s property, parvo hospitalization, and parvo quarantine & recovery. We thought it was finally her time at the happiest life.

Miranda was placed in a foster home with one of her siblings. Suddenly, one of the foster’s adult dogs in the home attacked her. We don’t know what happened, but we do know she’s lucky. The fosters quickly got her safe from him and rushed her to the hospital.

Unfortunately, radiographs show that the leg isn’t salvageable. At least in a way that will be optimal for her growth and health in the future. It’s shattered from the growth plate and in pieces down the rest of her leg. There’s no way to repair it without causing her a lifetime of pain. Miranda is going to have her leg amputated.

We’re hopeful recovery will be easy for her. One second altered her life, again. We’re thankful it’s not worse, but devastated she’s in another phase of uncertainty. Another source of pain. Another setback. Another lengthy healing process. We’re hopeful she’ll be on her way to her forever after this, but we need your help to cover the costs of Miranda’s care. She’ll lose the leg, but we can still save her life.

$1100/$1500 raised for Miranda’s amputation surgery.
