Story: Lucky Charm was found as a stray

Lucky Charm is a sweet, resilient boy with a heart full of love and a personality that’s impossible not to adore. He is deaf, so he communicates through hand signals (sign language) and has learned to watch his people for cues. Being deaf doesn’t slow him down one bit, he’s smart, eager to please, and adapts wonderfully with a family willing to communicate in his language. Lucky Charm is happiest when he’s with his people. Whether it’s riding in the car, exploring somewhere new, or simply relaxing at home, he just wants to be included. 

He does have separation anxiety, and because of that, he’ll need a family committed to providing consistent training, structure, and reassurance to help him continue building confidence and independence. He thrives with routine and will do best with someone willing to put in the time and patience he deserves. The good news? He’s trustworthy in the house and does well being left out while you’re away. He’s currently working on crate training but definitely prefers the freedom of home.

He’s dog-friendly and cat-friendly, but because he loves his humans so much, he can become jealous and may not want to share your attention with other dogs. With proper introductions, management, and continued training, he can do well in a multi-pet home. Lucky Charm isn’t much of a toy enthusiast, but hand him a tasty bone or surprise him with a pup cup, and you’ll have his whole heart!

Lucky Charm is looking for a patient, loving family that understands he’s not a “plug-and-play” dog. He’ll require ongoing, consistent work, but the reward is an incredibly loyal companion who will love you with everything he has.
