Senior girl Lucille somehow ended up in a high-kill shelter here in Oklahoma. We have no idea how she got there, only that we couldn’t let her live her last days in that environment. Luckily, a foster agreed and her jailbreak commenced!
Lucille had the classic upper respiratory infection of an overcrowded shelter, but treatment didn’t seem to be working. As her breathing became more labored, she was rushed into the vet. Lucille has some odd spots on the radiograph of her lungs, we don’t know if its cancerous, if its aspiration, if its pneumonia. The doctors treated Lucille with an even more intense antibiotics and started her on steroids, hoping it would clear up.
While Lucille is much improved, she’s not 100%. She has stayed on a daily steroid and that keeps her happy & breathing normally. We still don’t fully know what we’re dealing with, but we’re scared it’s cancerous. Either way, Lucille will get the care she needs to live out the rest of her days comfortably and will hopefully be looking for her forever home very soon.
$0/$500 raised for Lucille’s veterinary visits.
