Story: Hunter was found as a stray, adopted out a year ago and recently returned due to no fault of his own

Hunter is a big boy with an even bigger heart! He’s happiest when he’s included in whatever you’re doing, whether that’s a road trip, a walk around the neighborhood, or just hanging out at home. If you’re looking for an adventure buddy, Hunter is your guy. He hops right into the car, rides quietly, and patiently waits to be released before hopping out. Hunter is fully potty trained with zero accidents in foster care and is crate trained too. Show him a treat and he’ll happily run straight into his crate, where he sleeps peacefully all night.

He absolutely loves people and never turns down the chance to make a new friend. He’s also a huge foodie, which makes training easy. Hunter already knows sit, down, wait, paw, & he’s working on his “left” and “right.” Hunter can be reactive when meeting new dogs, especially smaller ones. However, with slow, proper introductions, he does fine! He loves all his foster siblings. Because of his size and enthusiasm, he would do best in a home without young children. He’s isn’t aggressive, he just genuinely believes he’s a 20-pound lap dog! When playtime rolls around, Hunter is all in. Toys are one of his favorite things, and after he’s gotten his energy out, he’s more than happy to soak up affection from his people. Because of his energy and love for adventure, Hunter would thrive with an active family who will keep him moving and include him in their adventures. He’s a very loyal, affectionate companion with lots of love to give!
