Age: 14 months
Breed: Great Dane
Color: Harlequin
Weight: 140 pounds
Adoption fee: $500
Story: Guinevere was surrendered to us by her owner
She knows: Sit, lie down, leave it, out, down, off, fetch, break, how to use a doggy door, and she is potty trained!
She’s working on: Leash manners, walks, and “place.” She’s already making great progress and is eager to learn.
Things her future family should know: She has shown resource guarding in the past with food, toys, and a preferred person. With consistency and structure, this behavior has become virtually nonexistent in her current home. However, because transitioning into a new environment can bring old behaviors back to the surface, her adopter should be prepared to continue reinforcing the boundaries and training that have helped her succeed.
Now, who is ready to welcome a stunning Great Dane into their family?
This beautiful girl is a gentle, loving soul with so much potential. She can be a little more reserved and cautious around men at first, while she tends to warm up more quickly to women. Once she feels comfortable and knows she is safe, her sweet personality really begins to shine.
Because of her size and needs, she is looking for a without cats or dogs under 50lb. She also will require a home with no kids under 8 years old.
She does enjoy the company of larger dogs and has done wonderfully with her 80lb foster sibling!
She would thrive with someone who understands large breeds and is comfortable continuing to provide structure, boundaries, and consistency. An experienced Great Dane or large-breed home would be especially wonderful for her.
She has already learned so much and has made incredible progress. Now she just needs the right person to give her the stability, patience, and love she deserves. This gorgeous girl is ready for a forever home where she can continue building confidence, keep learning, and finally settle in knowing she is home for good.
