Eli

Age: 1 year and a half

Breed: Dane mix

Color: Black

Weight: 72 lbs

Story: Eli was found was abandoned

Eli came to PHR 2 days before Christmas. He was very emaciated, only weighing 70 lbs for a Great Dane, and had some significant injuries to his legs, body, and face. As rough shape as he was in he LOVED people. He has BIG Trust, wants to please, knows basic commands, and is crate trained (in a crate during work days – sleeps out of the crate at nights). He was wonderful with older kids but hasn’t been tested with littles. He is a perfect house dog, not destructive and in Great Dane fashion sleeps hard and wants to play hard. His sniffer and squirrel game is ON POINT! His trust in humans remains but his trust for other animals is low. He can share a home with others as long as it’s 100% supervised. He is the sweetest boy, loves to give and receive hugs. He’s dog (animal) reactionary and his sniffer doesn’t make the best for pleasant walks (needs training). He stays close by at night and is a much calmer walker when he’s not distracted visually. He’s very trainable and is food motivated. He’s gaining weight, his wounds are healed. He’s such a GREAT Great Dane! You’ll love him!
