Story: Dixie was saved from a rural shelter with her puppies

Dixie is a true sweetheart who may take a little time to feel comfortable in new situations. She can be nervous at first and prefers to watch things from a distance before deciding to join in, but once she warms up, she will come to you on her own for affection and loves nothing more than rolling around in bed with her people. She is potty trained, crate trained, good on a leash, and trustworthy when left outside of her crate. 

Dixie is incredibly gentle, loves treats, and would do well with a confident dog who can help show her the ropes. She is great with kids, although younger, loud children may make her nervous. She has not been tested with cats, but she has shown no noticeable prey drive. At night, she is perfectly content sleeping on the floor, but is equally happy sleeping in her kennel or on her bed. Dixie is a gentle, loving girl who just needs a little patience and time to let her sweet personality shine.
