Story: Digby was surrendered to us by his owner

Once Digby trusts you he will show you he is an incredibly sweet lover boy who has come a long way on his journey to trusting humans. We don’t know what happened during the first part of his life or why he is so fearful of people, but learning that his foster family humans are safe has been a big milestone for him. He is still learning what it’s like to live in a home and be a puppy. New people can be scary, and he tends to warm up to women more quickly than men. He is very timid when meeting someone for the first time, but once you earn his trust, he loves with his whole heart!

Digby has completely opened up to his foster mom, foster dad, and their kids, and he adores them all. He wants to be close to his person at all times. He sleeps in a kennel right beside his foster mom’s bed. He is crate trained and is still working on potty training, so he’ll need a patient family willing to continue helping him learn. Digby is extremely food and treat motivated! He has already learned to sit and go into his kennel on command for a tasty reward.

Digby loves his blankets and even carries them around the house like a toy. He is ready to get cozy at all times. Digby does great with his two foster dog friends, but having another dog in the home is not a deal breaker. He actually spends most of his time happily following his foster mom around. Despite everything he’s been through, Digby is incredibly gentle, sweet, playful and loving. While busy outings and overwhelming environments aren’t his comfort zone, he is happiest at home with his people, where he feels safe, secure, and loved. Digby would thrive with a patient, understanding family willing to give him time to adjust and continue learning that the world can be kind.
