Story: Chelley was found as a pregnant stray

Chelley is a bright, active Aussie mix who is looking for a home that understands her sensitive side and will give her the time she needs to feel comfortable. She is potty trained, crate trained, and does well on a leash. She enjoys being near her people and likes to sleep close by, but she is also perfectly comfortable settling into her crate when it is time to rest.

Chelley is incredibly smart and loves having opportunities to use her brain. Puzzle toys are a favorite, especially when she has to figure out how to get to the reward. She is very food motivated, which makes her eager to learn and gives her people a great way to keep her mind busy while helping her build confidence. She is an active girl who loves to run and burn off energy, so a securely fenced yard is a must for her. She would do best with a privacy fence, as she is uncomfortable when people on the other side of the fence try to interact with or bother her. She is good with children and can live with other dogs after proper introductions. Her behavior with cats is currently untested.

Chelley can be nervous and anxious in new situations, so she will need a patient family who understands the importance of allowing her time to decompress and settle into her new surroundings. Once she feels safe and begins to understand her environment, her intelligence, curiosity, and playful personality really start to shine. With the right combination of patience, structure, mental stimulation, and an active lifestyle, Chelley will be a wonderful companion.
