Story: Aretha Franklin was rescued from a breeder shutdown
Meet Aretha Franklin, a sweet, soulful girl with a playful spirit and so much love to give. She’s about 75% potty trained when kept on a consistent routine and is doing great with crate training using positive encouragement. Aretha is dog and kid friendly (cats unknown) and already follows simple cues like “down” and “no.” She’s very treat motivated, watermelon is a favorite and spends her days playing with her foster sibling, enjoying enrichment activities, chasing balls, and curling up for naps under her foster mom’s desk. She’s not a big barker, but she is a total lovebug who happily invades your personal space for cuddles.
Aretha is still learning the world can be a safe place. She can be timid and startles easily, especially around loud sounds, quick movements, or when people approach her. She’s hesitant with doorways, eats slowly, and is currently working through some car sickness. While she may need a little extra patience and reassurance, she’s already showing so much progress. With time, gentle guidance, and lots of love, Aretha has all the makings of an incredibly loyal and devoted family companion.
