Meet Aaliyah! Aaliyah is the ultimate Velcro dog who loves being close to her people and would happily stay right by your side all day long. She’s incredibly sweet, smart, and intuitive, always eager to please and quick to learn. Aaliyah enjoys all the fun things in life, running, swimming, playing chase, snuggling, fetch, toys, and treats! She gets along great with other dogs and cats. While she may be a little timid at first, she warms up with a little time and loves to play, but she’s also very respectful of dogs who prefer their space. She listens well to corrections and is learning quickly as she builds confidence in new situations.

Aaliyah is making great progress with potty training and is about 80–90% there when kept on a regular schedule. She sleeps peacefully all night in her crate next to her foster’s bed, though she’d definitely love the chance to snuggle in bed if given the option! She is still working through some separation anxiety and learning to feel more comfortable in the crate, so she’ll need a patient family who can continue helping her build confidence. Aaliyah would thrive in a calm home with a consistent routine and an active lifestyle where she can run, swim, and play outdoors. She tends to bond more quickly with women and may take a little longer to warm up to men, but with patience and love she will become the most loyal, deeply devoted best friend
