Mellie was on the euthanasia list at a high-kill shelter. She was rapidly running out of time. Until one yes changed everything.

Safe in a foster home, recovered from her URI, and decompressed from the shelter we thought adoption was Mellie’s next step in her happily ever after story.

Unfortunately, her heartworm test came up positive. A strong positive. So now, we have to put pause on her happy ending and help her fight off these worms. She’s already fought for her life to get out of the shelter. Now, she’s got literal worms in her bloodstream attacking her heart. This isn’t what we want for her and it’s crucial that we get her treated as soon as we can.
