Reese is a sweet, gentle girl. Since coming into her foster home, she has been learning that the world can be a safe and loving place, and she is looking for a family who will continue to give her the patience, understanding, and reassurance she needs to truly blossom. Reese can be a little nervous when meeting new people and tends to warm up more quickly with women. She may start out as the queen of “whale eye” and uncertainty, but once she trusts you, she will happily crawl into your lap (or your heart!) and show you just how affectionate she really is. She loves attention and affection but is also perfectly content settling into a cozy spot and relaxing on her own.

Reese enjoys the companionship of other dogs and seems to thrive with a canine friend in the home. While she can be a bit of a toy thief and does occasionally resource guard certain items, she responds well to interruption and will happily walk away when redirected. She gives fair, appropriate corrections and is overall a very gentle and respectful girl with her furry friends. While she hasn’t become fully comfortable enough to play with the other dogs in her foster home yet, she absolutely enjoys being around them and having their companionship.

Reese is both house-trained and crate-trained. She currently has the freedom to roam the home when her foster isn’t there, but she also settles nicely in her crate when needed – especially once she knows her person will be coming back for her. At night, she loves sleeping in bed with her people, usually choosing the cozy spot at the foot of the bed rather than snuggling, but she is also perfectly happy sleeping in her open crate.

This girl has a love for adventure! Reese walks beautifully on a leash, rarely pulls, and enjoys going on outings with her people. She is also a fantastic car rider, happily jumping into the vehicle on her own and riding safely secured with her seatbelt. She especially enjoys chasing the lure on a flirt pole and having fun with interactive play. Reese has not been exposed to cats or children under 10, but we believe she would do best with older children who understand and respect her boundaries. She can occasionally offer gentle little nips toward her foster’s hands or face, so a family who can continue helping her learn appropriate ways to seek attention would be ideal.

Reese is a loving girl with so much potential. She is searching for a family who will be patient with her, celebrate her progress, and help her gain confidence at her own pace. Once Reese decides you’re her person, you’ll have a devoted companion who just wants to be loved.
