Lester’s Medical Info

Lester was at OKC animal welfare and on the euthanasia list. He’s a senior guy, and the thought of him spending his last days in a crowded, scary shelter was too much to bear. Luckily, PHR found a foster and we whisked Lester right out of there!

Lester had some of the classic signs of an upper respiratory infection, very common coming from the shelter, so was started on treatment for that. But after a few days passed it was something else was wrong. He wasn’t wanting to eat hardly anything. We were so worried. He was taken to the vet, some basic bloodwork was done, and we were told his teeth needed extracting. We raised money for his dental, and sent him in for it to be done. We were so excited for this new lease on life we just knew he was going to have.

We had another round of deeper bloodwork done before he underwent anesthesia, and were devastated to found out that Lester is actually in kidney failure. That explains the not wanting to eat :(. As soon as we found out, we jumped into action. Lester’s on a kidney friendly diet, receiving subq fluids weekly, and has plenty of life left in him!

We need help covering the cost of Lester’s kidney food. He’s also on the hunt for a hospice adopter that wants to help him live out the rest of his days comfortably!

$600/$600 raised for Lester’s care.
