Story: Elena was rescued from euthanasia at a shelter in OKC; she was severely emaciated

Meet Elena! Elena came from a severe cruelty case and because of the mistreatment she endured early in life, learning to trust people has been a journey for her. She can be timid and slow to connect with adults, but once you earn her trust, she loves with her whole heart. Despite everything she’s been through, Elena is incredibly sweet, crate trained, potty trained, loves other dogs, does well with cats, and absolutely thrives around children. Kids seem to bring out her happiest, most playful side, though she is still very much a puppy and sometimes doesn’t realize how wiggly and clumsy she can be. Elena would do best with a patient, understanding family willing to give her time to settle in and continue learning that the world can be safe and kind. While busy outings and overwhelming environments are not really her comfort zone, she truly loves being home with her people, where she feels secure, loved, and able to just be a dog.
