Story: Emily’s litter was living outside due to their owner going on hospice care
Emily is a smart, affectionate puppy with a playful side and a love for belly rubs, stuffed toys, and zooming around the yard. She learned how to use a doggy door in less than a day, showing just how quick and eager to learn she is. Emily loves being close to her people and is happiest curled up nearby or relaxing in her cozy bed. At night, she does well sleeping in her crate, settling down quickly after a short protest and staying quiet through the rest of the night.
While Emily can be a little timid when meeting new people, animals, or experiencing loud noises, she warms up into a friendly and curious companion once she feels safe. She does well with kids but, like most puppies, is still learning boundaries and enjoys chewing, so toys are a must and shoes should stay out of reach. Emily gets along well with dogs around her size and is curious but cautious around cats, though larger dogs can make her a bit nervous at first. She can be protective of her food, so mealtimes should be managed with space from other pets and children while she continues building confidence and positive habits.
