Story: Lionel Ritchie was rescued from a breeder shutdown

Lionel is a sweet, gentle boy with a soft heart and a timid nature. He may be a little shy at first, but once he feels safe, his loving personality really starts to shine. He enjoys spending time outside, playing and soaking up the sun with his foster siblings, galloping through the yard and he’s happiest just being near his people.

Lionel is very well-mannered in the home. He rests comfortably in his crate while his foster mom is at work and sleeps peacefully on the floor in the bedroom at night, he has no interest in furniture and is perfectly content laying at your feet. He loves pets and will happily give kisses once he warms up.

He already knows “sit” and “shake,” and he’s extremely food motivated, which makes continued training fun and rewarding. Lionel does get a little nervous around doorways, but with a bit of patience and reassurance, he’s learning that there’s nothing to be afraid of. With a kind and patient home, Lionel will truly blossom into the most loyal and loving companion. He’s the kind of dog who will quietly steal your heart and make you so happy every single day.
