Story: Pineapple was originally rescued from the shelter as a baby, but has been recently returned.
If you’re looking for a loyal best friend with a big personality packed into a little body, Pineapple might just be your girl. This adorable Corgi mix is as smart as she is spunky. She knows sit, down, roll over, paw, stand, spin, stay, and come, and she’s always eager to learn more, especially if treats are involved.
Pineapple’s favorite pastime is chasing her squeaky toys and showing off her tricks. She’s also a pro at fetch and loves to make her people proud. She’s fully kennel trained and potty trained, and when things get a bit too noisy or busy, she knows how to find her safe space in her cozy kennel.
While Pineapple takes a little time to warm up to new people, especially men or strangers, once she decides you’re part of her circle she’ll be your most devoted companion! She tends to bond deeply with one person, so her new family will need to help her learn that having more than one favorite human is a wonderful thing! Pineapple prefers having her own space from other dogs and would do best with slow, proper introductions. She’s not a fan of pushy playmates, but she listens well to confident dogs who set clear boundaries. We’re unsure how she feels about cats.
She’s a dominant female around dogs who let her be, but she’s respectful of those who take the lead. When she’s uncomfortable, she communicates clearly, usually by walking away to avoid any conflict!
Pineapple is currently on a diet, but she won’t say no to her favorite special treats, especially during training time. She loves going for walks through the neighborhood and just wants to make her people happy. Pineapple may be a bundle of nerves at first, but beneath that is a sweet, silly girl who just wants to be loved and understood. With patience, structure, and plenty of squeaky toys, she’ll blossom into the loyal, loving friend you’ve been looking for!
