Story: Herbie Hart was released to us by a breeder

Herbie Hart is the quirkiest boy that is discovering freedom for the first time. He is a Shiba/mini Aussie mix and is full grown at 12lbs. He loves playing with other dogs and laying next to his family while they relax. He plays with big dog toys that his foster siblings play with and will happily take a bone that is half his size onto the couch with him. He even gives the sweetest “corn cob” nibbles to show affection. Music calms him down when he gets stressed; he is particularly fond of Hozier. Herbie Hart was a breeder surrender that has spent his life in a kennel without human interaction. Due to this, his foster is working to minimize kennel time but he does well crated when he is home alone. He is learning to love being outside and is trying really hard to be brave enough to play with his foster siblings in the grass. He is very timid around people, but has settled into a routine nicely. He is even asking for snuggles now! He is potty pad trained and consistently potties on the pad if it is out. Since he is apprehensive of the outdoors, he has not started outside potty training but he is getting so close! The more comfortable he gets around people, the more playful he gets! Herbie’s perfect home includes someone that will meet him where he is and continue new experiences at his pace. He has a lot of love to give! A home with other dogs would help him continue to model his behavior after the other dogs in the home and speed up his transition into a loving routine. If Herbie Hart sounds right for you, take him on a sleepover!
