Story: Elsie was living in an outside crate and was rescued

Elsie is the sweetest girl around! The best way to describe her is PRECIOUS. She loves all people, and just wants to be with them all the time. She loves to snuggle up and give as many kisses as you’ll accept.

Elsie is doing great with potty training- she rarely has an accident and has learned to go to the door to ask to go out. She can be resistant to going in the crate after being forced to live in one full time most of her life, but is quickly getting better about going in on command now that she knows she’ll always get to come back out soon. She does still have puppy tendencies and is new to house life, so can’t be left out unattended while she learns what is and isn’t a toy, but does great other than occasionally grabbing an errant shoe. She’s perfectly well behaved in her crate, and sleeps quietly all night long crated in her room. She does get fed in her crate, which helps it to be a happy place and stops her from stealing food from the other dogs .

Elsie always comes when called, corrects well, knows sit, and is working on everything else related to being a house dog. Elsie was attacked as a baby, so does need a minute to take it all in before she feels safe with other dogs but has had no problems fitting in. After a few minutes of observing and some good sniffs of each other, she’s been besties with the 4 dogs in her foster home. They share toys, take turns taking treats, snuggle on the couch, and love to run & wrestle. She’s not always the best at reading social cues, but will just move along unbothered if the old man gets grumpy with her. She is very confused by the cat, and wants to run up to her to investigate, so is still figuring out that the cat doesn’t really want to be her friend.

Elsie is a bit insecure, and needs her person to take the lead- telling her she’s a good girl or correcting her where needed. She loves to give hugs, and luckily she’s the perfect small size to do so! She truly just wants to please and will be the best, most loyal companion.
