Story: Champ was rescued from a hoarding case

Every champion was once a contender who refused to give up and Champ is no exception! Despite coming from a rough beginning, he still holds on to his sweet nature and only wants to lavish others with an endless supply of love. It isn’t uncommon to find him slowly pressing into your side until he is fully strewn across your lap, soaking in all the hugs and kisses like his life depends on it!

Champ is slowly acclimating to the life of an inside dog, meaning he is still in the process of learning his manners – some of which being not to mark in the house or pretend to be a Billie goat on the furniture. But with plenty of patience, he is more than happy to follow any corrections with a big, slobbery smile.

He’s a smidge stand-offish to strangers at first, taking a few moments to warm up to others (since he’s not used to being the center of attention in the pack), yet when he sees he’ll be given tasty treats and plenty of head scratches he quickly morphs into a happy-go-lucky boy that just wants to stay glued to your side. He’s dog friendly and very passive towards other personalities, though it is not recommended to have cats given his proclivity to give chase should they run.

Champ is crate trained, though he has been left out during the times his foster moms are away (mostly due to his dislike of the crate in general and has performed several Houdini acts in them). Truly, this boy is an escape artist and will not be contained if he doesn’t want to! Thankfully he has been good outside the crate too, neither chewing nor leaving stinky presents for anyone to find.

If you need a pup to go the distance with you, than place all your bets on Champ, a true blue champion in the making!
